Meet the Parents spawned three films that successfully brought in profitable numbers; banking on the star power of both Ben Stiller and Robert De Niro in a typical boy friend meets the girl friend’s parents story taken to the extreme.
But why does this scenario fit so well with the current political climate?
They now brilliantly take a turn as Robert Mueller and Michael Cohen in the ongoing Trump-Russia collusion investigation.
And to see it played out in a more political (but no less silly) sense is amazing.
I remember meeting my girl friend’s parents and thinking the exact same thing whenever questions were directed toward me.
Luckily, I am not Michael Cohen. Whose hearings on Client-Lawyer privilege could set precedents in the lower courts. Or lead to something deeper.
