Donald Trump, of the United States of America, is set to have a historic meeting in May, 2018 (05/18) with Kim Jong Un of North Korea.
Expectations between both sides are set low; North Korea is only expected to suspend their nuclear aspirations, and the US has no intentions of lifting global UN and trade sanctions. The meeting is set to be only on diplomatic grounds.
Diplomatic expertise in the pacific has eluded the Trump administration, as it struggled to even get an ambassador for the position. The White House has stated that even with such deficiency, the hope is that the meeting with North Korea will be fruitful in calming the tensions in the area.
